Discover Alpine Roasters
About Alpine Roasters
Alpine Roasters invites you to join us on a journey into the deep end of specialty coffee.
This is a voyage of exploration—into origin, cultivation, processing, roasting, cupping, and the joy of experiencing some of the finest coffees we can find.
Approachability is one of our foundational values. We want this to be inclusive in every way. Sustainable and Fair Trade practices are non-negotiable, as are traceability and transparency. This is an exercise in education and growth—bringing what's considered the "high end" of coffee and espresso into our little mountain town of Aspen, Colorado.
One note: We don’t post flavor profiles or tasting notes—and that’s intentional.
Flavor is personal. Interpretive. This journey is meant to be a unique and reflective experience.
We use photography, composition, and color—sparingly and with purpose—to convey an impression of each offering. This extends to our packaging as well. Color is our cue.
Since this is an origin story—for us, for our community, and for anyone new to the world of coffee variety and exploration—we’re starting at the source. We begin with two offerings: one from Ethiopia, widely regarded as the birthplace of coffee, and a companion lot from Colombia.
In Ethiopia, we find a stunning diversity of aroma and flavor in the cup. The origin story of coffee begins here, in the forests of the Kaffa region and the nearby Boma Plateau, where Coffea arabica evolved under a canopy of tall trees. In Ethiopia, coffee is called bunn or bunna, and the phrase “coffee bean” may even be a nod to “Kaffa bun.”
We consider Ethiopian coffees among the best in the world. Their greater genetic diversity is part of what makes them so compelling.
-
Washed (wet-processed) Ethiopian coffees are often sparkling, with citric acidity, sweet spice, and floral aromatics.
-
Natural (dry-processed) coffees are dried in the fruit, which imparts bold notes of berry, mango, peach—a whole cornucopia of flavor. These coffees are full-bodied, intense, and unforgettable. Even people who say “all coffee tastes the same” will notice when they try a natural Ethiopian.
So come with us. Food exploration at Bosq has drawn international acclaim, and this new journey into specialty coffee feels like a natural evolution of that story.
This is how we choose to experience coffee—and we’re honored to share that journey with you.
