Discover Alpine Roasters

About Alpine Roasters

Alpine Roasters invites you to join us on a journey into the deep end of specialty coffee.

This is a voyage of exploration — into origin, cultivation, processing, roasting, cupping, and the joy of experiencing some of the finest coffees we can source.

Approachability is one of our foundational values. We want this to be inclusive in every way. Sustainable and Fair Trade practices are non-negotiable, as are traceability and transparency. This is an exercise in education and growth — bringing what's considered the "deep-end" of Specialty Coffee and espresso into our little mountain town of Aspen, Colorado.

One note: We're exploring new ways of relating to 'flavour' and sensory perception.

Flavour is personal. Interpretive. This journey is meant to be a unique and reflective experience.

We use photography, composition, and colour — sparingly and with purpose — to convey an impression of each offering. This extends to our packaging as well. Colour is our cue. Sometimes graphics/gradients as well.

What’s New for Launch:

We’re partnering with Bosq Aspen to bring a coffee lounge experience to Aspen, and launching summer at Alpine Roasters with a line-up that celebrates the bold, the experimental, and the truly origin-driven. Our current offerings reflect the leading edge of process and flavor, and are a direct result of our relationships with small, regenerative farms.

Colombia El Vergel Estate “Guava Banana” Natural Anaerobic MicroLot

Our flagship coffee is an experimental natural anaerobic lot from Colombia—a true statement piece for Aspen’s specialty scene. Expect vibrant tropical fruit, guava, banana, and a lively, “funky” complexity that’s as much conversation starter as it is cup of coffee. This is coffee for the curious, for those who want to taste the future of the craft.

Ethiopia Banko Gotiti Natural

We’re also deep into an Ethiopia Banko Gotiti Natural—a coffee that honors the birthplace of coffee itself. This lot bursts with floral aromatics, sweet fruit, and clarity in the cup, thanks to the natural process and Ethiopia’s unparalleled genetic diversity. It’s a classic, reimagined for today’s adventurous palate.

Burundi Dry Process Murambi

Joining our line-up is the Burundi Dry Process Murambi—a new arrival that rounds out our offerings with its distinctive character. Dry (natural) processed coffees from Burundi are known for their juicy fruit, bright acidity, and layers of complexity. This lot brings a fresh perspective to our menu, showcasing the incredible terroir and craft of Burundi’s smallholder farmers.  Getting cherry-cola with a milk-chocolate-vibe...

Why We Lead With Process:

We’re obsessed with variety and process—especially the wild, boundary-pushing side of coffee: natural fermentations, innoculations, experimental micro-lots with hybrid cultivars, and single-origin storytelling. These offerings aren’t just about ‘coffee’; they’re about discovery, flavor, and the connections between land, farmer, cup, and culinary. Our approach is to let the coffee speak for itself and let you, the drinker, discover your own tasting notes.

A New Chapter in Taste:

Food exploration at Bosq has drawn international acclaim, and this new journey into specialty coffee is a natural evolution of that story. Whether you’re deep into your coffee-exploration already or just curious about what’s possible, we invite you to taste the difference and join us at the edge of what coffee can be.

More than coffee. A way of being.

Alpine Roasters was born in the high quiet of the Colorado backcountry — not as a business, but as a way to translate the stillness and clarity of these mountains into something you could hold, sip, share.

Our founder, Andrew Wilz, is an internationally awarded commercial photographer, ex-elite athlete, environmentalist, conservationist, and seasoned explorer of wild places. His creative work has spanned continents and campaigns — and always, it returns to this: beauty is a form of truth, and truth is meant to be shared. His ongoing photographic project documenting the planet’s vanishing glaciers reflects that same devotion to bearing witness.

Alpine is where that vision is manifest in flavour.

Every roast is an expression of reverence — for land, for people, for the process. And every image you see here is not stock, not styled, not simulated — but drawn from the lived experience of someone who has made it their life’s work to document natural beauty and vanishing natural treasures.

This is coffee for those who care deeply about from where it comes. Who listen more than they talk. Who know that wild places are not resources — they are relationships.

Redrawing the Lines for a Sustainable Future

At Alpine Roasters, we’re not just roasting coffee—we’re redrawing the lines between what’s being done in the industry today and what’s truly needed for a healthier, more sustainable future for us all. Small-footprint living and mindful consumption aren’t just ideals; they’re the way forward. Living with a lighter imprint on the only planet we can call home is at the core of everything we do.

Powered by solar energy, practicing mindful, on-demand roasting to minimize waste, and striving to be carbon-negative, Alpine Roasters is proof that a world-class coffee experience doesn’t have to come at the expense of the environment. Local deliveries are made by foot or bike, and every sourcing decision is grounded in regenerative agriculture, direct relationships, and full traceability.

I’m here to make the largest possible impact I can with the tools I have—photography, coffee, culture, and education. My hope is that Alpine Roasters inspires others to do the same, whether you’re in Aspen or anywhere else in the world.

Please join me. We need to BE better, together.
