Transitioning

Things are coming together around here.  It's always so nice to feel all the pieces start to coalesce as your near your objective with a project, and this is no exception.

The hurdles with packaging, international shipping and tariffs etc are largely behind us. The cost of green coffee is in flux, but we're secure going into launch which feels nice.

The details are starting to come together with the hospitality component which also feels nice. Great partners and the stoke level remains high which is key. I think we're all just pumped to bring something meaningful and connected to the coffee-experience here in Aspen. And I've sort of been trying to get my head around what's really missing here, and maybe that's it. It's not 'personal'.

The observation with Aspen: Aside from the actual product-in-the-cup being largely cringe-worthy, the service disconnect feels crazy to me. This is a pretty hardcore 'service-industry' driven community. I've traveled all over the planet and never in my life have I experienced the general level of attentive service we have on the whole here, anywhere else. So it's sort of crazy-feeling going into coffee shops locally and talking with baristas/service folk who can't or wont even answer basic questions about their product, and act like they don't have time to talk... and it's some sort of inconvenience.

Coffee is about connection!

It's not grown here.

It's not processed here.

It's about connecting major international 'dots' across vast distances. It's multi- cultural. It's cross-cultural. It's joy. It's flavour. It's its own culture. It's so many incredible things. To have it dumped unceremoniously into a disposable paper cup by some angsty twenty-something who won't even make eye contact with you or answer your questions about its origin, makes me feel empty and like coffee here deserves better.

So here we are. Bringing something better.

The origin story. The process. The love and care.

SLOWING IT DOWN.

Savour the experience. Drink it in. You're enjoying the juice of a fruit that's traveled an incredible distance for your pleasure and gracious consumption.

Let's enjoy these beautiful moments together.

Because lord knows, the world is chaotic enough in so many other ways.

We're here building an intentional connection experience with Specialty Coffee. This is experiential. It's sensory.

It's not fast.

It's constructing moments. Intertwining flavours. Textures. Intentionally transportive.

Early June we journey together.

I look forward to walking this path with you.
